Bound to the Core: Exploring the Hip Harness for Suspension presented by Kanso

SEE EVENT DETAILS
In this class we focus on learning a versatile hip harness for use in Japanese rope suspension. We will address the functionality of a hip harness, how to achieve proper tension and different ways of attaching support lines for a safe and comfortable suspension.

This class is aimed toward students who have taken our introductory classes or have previous basic rope knowledge and can tie a single & double column tie proficiently and have some level of comfort in handling ropes.

We keep our classes small so that we can give one on one feedback and assistance to all our students - both tops and bottoms. Classes always include a demonstration of the tie and then step by step, hands-on instruction of the tie.

This class is part of our five month intermediate series at The SFArmory. If you are interested in working towards learning Japanese rope suspension in a careful and thorough way, these are the classes for you!

Our series on introducing rope suspension will begin in October 2017 and requires these intermediate level ties.

About Kanso:

Kanso is a teacher, performer and visual artist of Japanese rope bondage (Shibari). He was first introduced to the world of Shibari while visiting Japan 2006 and has spent the last 10 years refining his rope practice and skills.
In 2010 he met True Blue and together they created Bondage Erotique with the intent of introducing a more sensual and intimate approach to rope bondage. He has taught rope intensives in NYC, L.A. Atlanta, Dallas, Portland, San Antonio, D.C, etc, and has performed at corporate events, art shows & festivals across the U.S.
Kanso is currently the resident rope instructor at the SF Armory and teaches a year-long curriculum taking students from beginner through to suspension. He continues to offer several on-going monthly classes and events in his hometown of San Francisco. He is also the co-founder of BARE (the Bay Area Rope Exchange), which hosts rope parties and puts on highly popular bondage performances at the Folsom Street Fair annually.
This workshop focuses on developing skills necessary for better rope management, dexterity and flow. We exercise body memory in order to achieve better results in the quality, speed and passion of your ties. A box tie/chest harness is utilized as the practice tie in this class.
