Join Blue for a lecture on some essential knowledge that will help your first times in rope suspension run as smoothly and safely as possible.
Rope Bottoming is a complex, empowering, and risky endeavor. And--- YOU can do it! Armed with proper information to advocate for your safety and well-being, you are bound to have an amazing experience!
What to expect:
Anatomy in rope
Vocabulary of rope
Assessing your rigger and your environment
Circulation and nerve pathway awareness and risks
Presence of mind in your rope space
Communication with your rigger, and yourself
What to do about that rope drop
Live rope suspension demo!
This class is best suited for bottoms who are curious about rope suspension, gearing up for their first experience, or still new to suspension.
About the presenter:
As half of the duo Bondage Erotique, Blue has been teaching and performing Japanese Rope Bondage across the U.S. since 2012. Bondage Erotique presents monthly classes and rope jams at the SFArmory, co-hosts a suspension booth at Folsom Street Fair, and runs many other local rope events and classes regularly.
Blue has also facilitated Rope Bottoms roundtables in SF, and presented Rope Bottoming education at Bondage Expo Dallas and Anatomie Studios London. As a longtime rope bottom who has emerged as a passionate rigger, Blue brings to her tying a deep understanding for what it means to be in rope, and a well-rounded perspective on physical and emotional needs and possibilities for both partners.

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start time of your tour/workshop and bring a valid government issued photo ID (18+ only). Late arrivals or those without ID will not be allowed in. We do not use tickets, so there is nothing to print. Your name will be on a list at the door. Public transportation is recommended as street parking is limited. Closest BART station is 16th St/Mission. We offer free indoor bicycle parking.
