Bootie will be playing Outside Lands artists throughout the night, but with one big twist -- of course, they'll all be mashed up! It might not be the "real" thing, but it's WAY cheaper and you won't get sunburned! Direct from the East Coast, Bootie is proud to present a special prime-time set from mashup producer DOSVEC! Called “the Mashup Monster” by the New York Post, DOSVEC has had numerous mashups appear on the HypeMachine Top 10. But at the end of the day, he just wants to make people’s rump shake!
Taking the stage at 11 PM will be mashup rock band Smash-Up Derby, featuring special guest vocalist Kat Robichaud (from NBC’s The Voice). Also in the Main Room will be Bootie SF resident DJ and co-creator Mysterious D (of A Plus D) and opening DJ Jimi G, as they mix and mash Outside Lands artists past and present all night long. Plus aerialist Sylphie Currin flies high above the dance floor for the Midnight Mashup Show!
Upstairs, Cirque du Cliché takes over the Lounge, as DJs Airsun and Andre spin music guaranteed to keep you bumping on the dance floor, while in Above, it’s Gaslight Mafia, as DJ JsinJ and Ezra Croft bring electro-swing and more to tempt swing dancers and club dancers alike! Plus, in the Dazzle Room, it’s Culooo! French DJ Grandpamini will be joined by Pedrolito, as they spin Latin mashups all night long. All this, plus drag hosts Willard, Effervescence Jackson, and Shelix, free Bootie mashup CDs to the first 100 people, and club photography by ShutterSlut!
Launched in 2003 by San Francisco DJ duo A Plus D, Bootie was the first club night dedicated solely to the then-burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup -- and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with regular parties in several cities.
