Bootie Atlanta comes to SF! Returning for a special guest set, Bootie Boston and Bootie ATL founder and veteran mashup artist dj BC will rock the decks with a groovy mash of classic dance, hip-hop, pop, rock and funky surprises! As the infamous creator of the banned "Beastles" (Beastie Boys vs. Beatles) bootleg albums, dj BC is widely-known as one of the best mashup producers working today. He's also produced many other acclaimed mashup albums, including "Wu Orleans," (Wu-Tang Clan vs. jazz), "Ziggy Stardust Remixed," and the annual "Santastic" holiday mashup compilations. Joining him on the decks in the Main Room will be Bootie SF's resident DJs A Plus D and the debut of new opening DJ JimiG.
Bootie Atlanta will also be taking over the Loft, as dj BC and DJ BouncyHouse bring the ATL to SF, along with special guests ATOM (NYC) and Corporation (Miami). Smash-Up Derby takes the Main Stage at 11 PM for a blazing live mashup rock set, while aerialist Electric Blue takes to the silks high above the dance floor for a breathtaking Midnight Mashup Show! Upstairs, DJ DCNSTRCT, the troublemaker behind Cockfight — along with DJ Becky Knox — brings A.D.D. (Attention Deficit Disco) to the Lounge to medicate you with indie, electro, and disco house sounds. And finally, Airsun and Chucky Brown bring Cirque du Cliché to the Dazzle Room, playing music that is guaranteed to keep you grinding on the floor!
Launched in 2003 by San Francisco DJ duo A Plus D, Bootie was the first club night dedicated solely to the then-burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup -- and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with regular parties in several cities on four continents.
