Bootie Mashup presents: TRANSBLENDER: a trans-tastic after-party and show
Is there any other music genre that correlates to being transgender quite like “mashups?” Taking two or more songs, preferably from disparate genres and eras, and putting them together to become its own beautiful hybrid creation – it's the sonic equivalent of many trans experiences. It’s also the perfect way to end your march experience with an ALL AGES trans party!

Is there any other music genre that correlates to being transgender quite like “mashups?” Taking two or more songs, preferably from disparate genres and eras, and putting them together to become its own beautiful hybrid creation – it's the sonic equivalent of many trans experiences.
It should come as no surprise then to discover that the DJ and co-creator of Bootie Mashup, the world’s biggest all-mashup dance party, is transgender themselves. For nearly 15 years, Adrian A has been bridging the gap between the alternative and the mainstream, spinning genre-busting mashups around the globe. Bringing in their “trans sister from another mister" DJ Illexxandra from New York City, widely known for her epic Burning Man sets, the two will be throwing down on the decks, making this the perfect place to go right after the Trans March, which ends less than a block away.
Sprinkled in seamlessly throughout the evening will be a number of performers, representing not only a variety of acts, but a variety of transgender identities as well, from FTM to MTF to non-binary to genderqueer and beyond! Expect live singing, burlesque, pole dancing, and yes of course, honey – even drag!
But beyond celebrating the diversity of our transgender communities, TRANSBLENDER is first and foremost a party! Bring your dancing shoes and your tip money, and get ready for a “trans-tastic” experience!
All profits from the party will be donated to the National Center for Transgender Equality, a powerful transgender advocacy presence in Washington, DC., founded in 2003 by transgender activists who recognize the urgent need for policy change to advance transgender equality.
