Bookworms Club May 18th, 2018

at Folio Books (see times)
Join our Bookworms Book Club the third Friday of every month for author readings, pizza, and other fun activities! Come Friday, May 18th at 6:00 PM when author Joanne Rocklin shares her Golden State Warriors love and celebrates Pride with her new novel about welcoming a new sibling, Love, Penelope.
ABOUT THE BOOK:Penny is excited for her new sibling, so throughout her mom’s pregnancy she writes letters to it (not it, YOU!). She introduces herself and their moms. She brags about their home city, Oakland, California, and shares the trials and tribulations of being a 5th-grader.
While Penny asks little questions about her sibling’s development, she asks big questions about the world (like if and when her moms are ever going to get married "for real").
Honest, relatable, and full of heart, Love, Penelope explores heritage, forgiveness, identity, and some incredible Warriors basketball, through the eyes (and pen) of one memorable 10-year-old.
To RSVP:There’s a $5 deposit to RSVP. If the child attends, the $5 will come back to them in the form of a store gift certificate. If they’re not able to attend or RSVP in advance, the money will be donated to Children's Book Project, a foundation that builds literacy by providing free books to children.
