Join our Bookworms Book Club the third Friday of every month for author readings, pizza, and other fun activities! Come Friday, March 16th at 6:00 PM when author N.H. Senzai shares the story of one girl’s journey to safety in her stunning middle-grade novel, Escape From Aleppo.
ABOUT THE BOOK:Nadia stands at the center of her parents’ elegant dining room. It is the best day of my life, she thinks. It is December 17, 2010, and everyone is about to sing “Happy Birthday,” when her uncle calls from the living room. Anti-government protests erupt across the Middle East; it is the beginning of the Arab Spring. As civil war flares in Syria and bombs fall across now 12-year-old Nadia’s home city of Aleppo, her family decides they must flee. Join her journey!
To RSVP:There’s a $5 deposit to RSVP. If the child attends, the $5 will come back to them in the form of a store gift certificate. If they’re not able to attend or RSVP in advance, the money will be donated to Children's Book Project, a foundation that builds literacy by providing free books to children.
