BlockDev Conference 2018 :: the Blockchain Developer
The Rise of the Blockchain Developer
The BlockDev Conference (#BlockDev2018) is the largest convergence of blockchain and distributed ledger developers and engineers seeking exposure to the newest technologies for building decentralized apps and startups in FinTech, Healthcare, Consumer, Government and the Enterprise software industries.
Blockchain is far more than a protocol for currency -- it's a platform for decentralizing applications in a profoundly secure way. Blockchain innovation has proceeded in three (3) phases, and the BlockDev 2018 Conference has a track for each:
Track 1: Blockchain & Cryptocurrency
The rise of Bitcoin, Ethereum, alt coins, and Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) illustrate the power of blockchain and distributed ledger technology (DLT) as digital currency platforms. This track shows developers and engineers new ways to integrate and extend the most common blockchain currencies and create their own cryptocurrency.
Track 2: Ethereum & Smart Contracts
The second phase of blockchain innovation involves the expansion of blockchains as a technology backend and platform. Much of this infrastructure innovation has extended the Ethereum platform through "smart contracts", decentralized autonomous contracts using unique contract scripting languages. A large development community has evolved, benefitting from the sophisiticated ERC-20 token ecosystem. Learn how you can develop the next generation of finance, real estate, government, and ecommerce apps.
Track 3: Platforms, Ecosystems, Decentralized Data & Security
Just as the web was able to decentralize information around a shared protocol -- blockchain, DLT and Dapps are now able to decentralize and secure any type of transaction, activity or data. Platforms are proliferating beyond bitcoin & ethereum, to include faster, cheaper and more secure technology: Stellar, Zen Protocol, NEO, and others have seem their own ecosystems grow over the last year. The implications for this will change identity management, personal data management, media licensing, and any type of secure application development requiring 100% standardization and security across any cloud, platform, or device.
