THIS EVENT HAS ENDED
Sink your teeth into BiteLife, our annual event celebrating all things edible.

Just in time for Thanksgiving, gather ‘round for demos and workshops on how to make the most of your Thanksgiving meal—from exploring the anatomy of a Turkey with Bel Campo Meat Co. to the beauty of crafted comfort food with SF restaurant darlings, The Perennial. Plus, learn inventive foraged fall cocktail recipes to impress the guests with Two Sisters Bar & Books and get creative learning some new takes on using old recipes with SF Cooking School. "Friendsgiving" never tasted so good!

Learn about the science of taste our sweet-toothed reaction to chocolate with Firefly Chocolate (with tastings, of course) and test your tastebuds with cookies from Bitty Foods made with cricket flour.

Then, head to the project lab to learn about the science of eating: Dissect an owl pellet to explore its stomach contents with Shelby Medina, learn how skulls give us clues about how animals live and eat as the Academy’s Moe Flannery and legendary research associate Ray “Bones” Bandar show off his impressive, world-class collection of “dead heads," and hear about ants with super strong jaws courtesy of Academy entomologist Jenna Florio.

Outside at The Terrace, try Thanksgiving inspired bites while learning (and tasting!) how the flavor of wine is directly influenced by the soil and region. All wines have been Turkey day approved! $18 for a flight of 3; Bites sold separately.
