The Bindery hosts an evening with the producers of the forthcoming documentary film, Refugee Is Not My Name. Please join us to help raise funds with this worthy cause! From the filmmakers:
Refugees are people. People with families, stories, lives, dreams, goals. The media rarely portrays this truth, and so we would like to. On June 19th, Refugee Is Not My Name will be hosting a fundraising event at The Bindery, sharing stories of strength and identity.
With our documentary releasing shortly, we are coming to a crossroads—submissions into international film festivals. We hope the incredible stories we captured make waves in the political system, and create a movement, demanding acceptance and open arms.
We hope to see you at Haight Street's Bindery -- for stories of strength and identity, of perseverance and loss, of love and solidarity.
