This tour is not for the faint of heart, as it will involve biking and hiking long distances with considerable elevation gains. But for those who are up to the challenge, this all day trip will take you to some of the most amazing places in the Bay Area! Bike along the beautiful San Francisco Presidio and over the Golden Gate Bridge. Visit Sausalito and the remarkable floating house boats. Travel to Mill Valley and explore Old Mill Park. Climb the famous Dipsea Stairs up to the Panoramic Highway. Hike through the lush Fern Canyon Trail and down into the towering Redwoods of Muir Woods National Monument! At last, return to Sausalito to catch the ferry home.
I must stress that this is not an easy trip and do not recommend it for anyone who does not regularly exercise. The Goal is to reach Mill Valley by noon, have a quick lunch break, and then start the hike into Muir Woods.
