Be prepared to get wet in this river exploration walk up to the Big Sur Gorge swimming hole. We will be crossing the river several times, sometimes through knee- to waist-deep water, and climbing over rocks in this 1-mile hike. Wear clothing that can get wet, and old tennis shoes or water shoes that strap onto your foot. Bring a backpack, sunscreen, hat, water, and snacks, but leave valuables and electronics that cannot get wet behind. This 1.5-hour river walk will meet at the Pfeiffer Big Sur Day Use #3 Parking Lot.
The event is free after the $10 vehicle entry fee. The entry fee also gives access to public areas of the park. 30-person maximum.
