SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Hacker Dojo (see times)
As part of our Big in Japan speaker series, we welcome Zak Murase, who represents the noted Japanese venture capital firm Global Brain in Silicon Valley.

Before joining Global Brain, Murase had a long career as a Product Manager at Sony, where he helped to adapt American products to the Japanese market and Japanese products to the U.S. market. Based on his experience at Sony and his current vantage point evaluating investment candidates, Murase will share what works and what doesn’t work for companies aiming to scale their products over the Pacific, from the perspectives of product, market and culture. His insights will be relevant to U.S. startups that are eyeing the Japanese market, and to Japanese corporations looking to expand in the U.S. market.

Zak Murase is the Silicon Valley Office Representative for Global Brain, a venture capital firm headquartered in Japan. Prior to joining Global Brain in 2013, Zak spent 19 years with Sony – 4 years in Japan and 15 years in the US. Zak started his Sony career as a software engineer, and held various positions including product management, marketing, and business development for new products and business initiatives within the company. Zak was born and raised in Tokyo. Graduated from Keio University’s Shonan Fujisawa Campus in 1994.
