The nation is increasingly divided as many citizens retreat into echo chambers made up of people with whom they agree. In an effort to find ways forward, we will seek to foster stronger community ties between diverse groups by engaging in thoughtful discussions around issues of justice.
Join us as we view select clips from Ava DuVernay’s Netflix Original Documentary, “13THâ€Â - a look at the journey from slavery to mass incarceration - and then engage in a discussion on the film and several of the topics raised. People of diverse faiths and perspectives are welcome. Â
Howard Lindsay, Minister of Social Justice at Grace Tabernacle Church in San Francisco’s Bayview District, Rabbi Beth Singer of Congregation Emanu-El and Reverend John Weems of Calvary Presbyterian Church will facilitate.Â
