In 2015, the Supreme Court made a landmark decision to legalize same-sex marriage in all 50 states. Indeed, trends show that societal norms are shifting towards equality, but there remains a long journey for LGBTQ people and communities. Persistent hurdles exist around housing, workplace discrimination and trans justice. Meanwhile, violence and poverty still disproportionately affect LGBTQ youth.
