Beyond Barbed Wire (1997)

SEE EVENT DETAILS
In honor of the Congressional Gold Medal's tour stop in the Bay Area, the Japanese American Museum presents a documentary looking into the accomplishments of Nisei soldiers. The featured documentary is a 1997 film which shows the battlefield accomplishments of the 100th/442nd/MIS. The film gives a deep look into the emotions of the grown children and wives of the soldiers.
The movie focuses less on war and more on the strength of those who fought.
Following the film, filmmakers Steve Rosen and Terri DeBono will answer the questions of the viewers.
