About the Show
Our guest - Jude Allen. This week we’ll meet Jude, a photographer who has amassed 380K fans on Instagram. His photos around SF and in wild places are lush and inspiring, well-composed, with rich colors and interesting stories. We’ll look at some of his cooler shots and hear what it takes to make that happen.
Storytellers
Suzanne Fritz-Hanson is  a  collaborator,  a  creative-problem-solver,  a  scrappy-maker-of-things-to-happen,  a  practiced-question-asker,  a  silly-dance-choreographer  and  a  lover  of  hyphens...  also,  she's  a  Senior  Creative  Director  at  an  experience  marketing  agency.  Instead  of  a  traditional  print  or  digital  advertising,  she works  with  brands  to  merge  physical  and  digital  elements:  "phydigital".  "I  love  the  power  of  a  great  image  that  captures  more  than  a  visual  record  and  instead  can  tell  an  entire  story.  I  love  the  constraints  of  photography  and  simultaneously  appreciate  the  technological  advancements  that  have  democratized  and  advanced  the  medium."   Rubin's pedigree swings wide: making movies with George Lucas and Bernardo Bertolluci; premastering CDs for the Grateful Dead; developing the “paint-your-own pottery” studio industry; years at Netflix... but through it all he’s been a passionate photographer and collector. A few years ago he left his Senior Innovator role at Adobe to focus on his fine art photography. Even as he began to show and sell his work, the frustrations he experienced in printing and framing led to the creation of Neomodern in 2017.
About the Podcast
EVERYDAY PHOTOGRAPHY (Every Day!) is a short conversational podcast that offers guidance and inspiration for non-professional photographers. Hosted by Suzanne Fritz-Hanson and Michael Rubin, we follow an enthusiastic novice (Suzanne) as she digs into her iPhone, with practical and sometimes philosophical guidance from an expert (Rubin). All of us walk around with professional cameras in our pockets. New features automatically make our snapshots better; but camera software and filters can only do so much. A little wisdom is the missing ingredient. We’ll share tips, projects, some philosophy, and a bit of history, and in no time your pictures will go from “good enough” to “amazing.”
