Josh Izenberg, Director, SLOMO
Bernal resident, Josh Izenberg hails from Ann Arbor, MI where he earned a degree in Screenwriting from the University of Michigan. He's since worked as a copywriter, a cab driver, and a carpenter. SLOMO, his first documentary, is on the shortlist of films that will be whittled down to the final 3-5 titles vying for the Academy Award in the Short Documentary category.

Lily Yu, Director, Checkmate!
Lily is a filmmaker in BAVC's The Factory program and is the first-ever youth filmmaker to screen three films in the same year at the San Francisco International Film Festival as well as the first filmmaker ever to have two films in competition for the Golden Gate Award. Recently, Lily won "Best in Show" at Project Youth View for her film Limitations. She is 17 years old and a student at Skyline High School in Oakland. Lily plans to study filmmaking in college.

Gail Mallimson, Director
In her work as a documentary filmmaker, Gail focuses on the environment, education, and human rights. Her documentaries include: The Edge of the Wild [a 2010 Bernal Heights Outdoor Cinema entry], a personal encounter with the endangered species crisis; Room to Breathe, a portrait of an urban middle school that brings in a mindfulness mediation teacher to work with their most troubled kids; and several other short and long documentaries. She lives on Bernal Heights with her husband and teenage son.
