WE ARE GOING "BACK TO BASICS," gathering together once more in our favorite community spots where we live, play and hang out --in Bernal Plaza, Precita Park and Bernal Hill. For 19 summers, we have gathered under the stars to celebrate local filmmaking, from film crawls on Cortland Avenue to pop-up drive-ins during the pandemic. Leslie Lombre, Director of Exhibitions and Co-founder explains, The rotating screenings in Bernal parks, playgrounds and unpredictable sites have become an annual tradition that engages all corners of the Hill.
In 2022, we'll feature 3 nights of independent locally-produced films and videos including short features, documentaries, fiction, animation, art and music videos. Festival art director and co-founder Anne Batmale describes the offerings, The line-up is an eclectic mix of emerging and seasoned filmmakers who have a connection to Bernal, its spirit or its sentiment that resonates with our local audience.
