The San Leandro Public Library is hosting a free Beard & Mustache Competition on Saturday, August 24 from 5 PM to 10 PM. The event includes a meet and greet while enjoying light refreshments, a discussion with photographer and author Matt Rainwaters about his book, "Beard", and the Beard & Mustache Competition.
Competition judges will award a 1st Place Prize, an autographed copy of Beard, in each of seven categories: Mustache – Natural; Mustache – Styled; Partial Beard – Natural; Partial Beard – Styled; Full Beard – Natural; Full Beard – Styled, and Fake Beard. The 1st Place winners from the six Mustache, Partial Beard, and Full Beard categories will then compete for three Grand Prizes: 1st Place, a $125 gift card; 2nd Place, a $75 gift card; and 3rd Place, a $50 gift card. The competition prizes are generously donated by the Friends of the San Leandro Library. The audience will select the Grand Prize winners.
