Join 250 members of the Bay Area environmental community at Julia Morgan's "little castle" in the heart of Berkeley as we celebrate four Local Heroes who've made significant contributions to conserving -- and connecting people of all ages and backgrounds to -- the natural world of the San Francisco Bay Area. Our 2020 Local Heroes are:
Artist/naturalist John Muir Laws
San Francisco BayKeeper Executive Director Sejal Choksi-Chugh
Vincent Medina, Co-founder of the Ohlone Cafe (Mak-'amham)
Avalon Qian, Course Director, GirlVentures
We'll also be celebrating 20 years of publishing Bay Nature magazine, the award-winning nonprofit quarterly and website that connects people to the natural world around them and motivates them to solve problems with nature in mind.
The gala will include hors d'oeuvres and drinks reception, silent and live auctions, and a full-course dinner.
Proceeds will support Bay Nature's local and independent environmental journalism.
Bay Nature magazine and baynature.org are programs of the nonprofit Bay Nature Institute based in Berkeley. To learn more about Bay Nature, visit our website at
