Bay Area Film Mixer

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at PianoFight San Francisco (see times)

We could be dog walkers, school teachers, or programmers, but we’re not. At our core we identify as artists. It’s a profession that pulls us forward, challenges us, and forces us to make sacrifices. But we wouldn’t have it any other way...We believe that the Bay Area has a thriving arts community with untapped potential. We believe that you do not need to go to another market in order to have a career in film and television. Living in the digital era and in the digital mecca of the Bay Area, more and more opportunities are becoming available for all of us in the film industry, but often this work can seem elusive to find. In order to take advantage of this we need to come together and start a movement, one that yields greater advancements in our careers, one that gives us the support we need to carry on, and one that shows us what is possible. In order for that to happen, we need to raise our bars higher, encourage and inspire one another, and make the right kind of connections that foster industry growth. We hope to achieve this and more by bringing a community of working artists together, and it will take all of us adding our voices to the mix by sharing victories and hardships so that we all learn and can better support one another. There is work out there for all of us and we can get it. By growing the size of the pie as opposed to keeping the slivers for only our inner circles we can fundamentally transform the landscape of work in the Bay Area. We are truly stronger together when we have a belief in abundance and our goals are in alignment.Since 2012 the Bay Area FIlm Mixer has produced quarterly film mixers, bringing the Bay Area independent film market together. People leave inspired, people leave with more connections, and people find work and camaraderie. That’s what we are about. What do you want to see happen in the years to come? Become a part of our community and help us make the changes you want to see. Show up, speak up, and let’s make more things happen together.
