Battles at the Mansion

Two reenacted battles each day by the American Civil War Assn. and the opportunity to talk with participants and examine their artillery and campsites.

Or simply stroll the mansion grounds; enjoy Lake County’s own magnificent women’s a capella group's songs My Divas, David Neft's piano, and Andi Skelton's fiddling and Don Coffin's guitar.

Barbara White’s demonstrations of a mid-19th century lady wriggling into her corsets, hoop skirt and petticoats. Voris Brumfield as her great-grandmother, a freed slave, delivers the Gettysburg Address.

Saturday evening, a Contra Dance, forerunner of barn dances and line dances, under the stars with a skilled caller who makes it easy for people who’ve never tried before.

Chat with local history authors Gene Paleno and Ann Prehn, enjoy a cool drink by the pool, or good food from local vendors.

Tickets are on sale at all three Lake County museums, in Lakeport, Lower Lake and Middletown, and at Ely Stage Stop & Country Museum in Kelseyville; at the Chambers of Commerce in Lakeport and Clearlake; at all three Country Air Realty offices in Lakeport, Clearlake Riviera and Cobb; at Mountain High coffee shops in Cobb and Hidden Valley Lake; at the Lower Lake Coffee Shop and at 2 Women Traders in Middletown. Advance sales prices are $12 adult, $10 senior, $5 Youth, under 6 free.
