B-Side Sunday Dinner Series with Chef Deuki Hong

We are pleased to announce our B-Side Sunday Dinner Series. This is a singular, exciting opportunity for guests to experience the signature dishes of some of our country's greatest chefs for one night only.
We kick-off our series on Father’s Day, Sunday June 18th with Chef Deuki Hong, of SF’s Sunday Bird. Chef Hong heralds from NYC where he was the head chef at Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong, the Korean barbecue chain founded by rapper Kang Ho-dong. At 15, Deuki worked as a line cook under Aarón Sanchez at Centrico in New York City before heading to the Culinary Institute Of America. After graduating near the top of his class, he cooked under David Chang at Momofuku before working on the line at Michelin three-starred Jean-Georges. Deuki was the executive chef of the smash-hit Baekjeong NYC in Manhattan’s Koreatown. He's recently been recognized as an Eater Young Gun, named to the Zagat 30 Under 30 list, and 2016 Forbes 30 under 30 list. He is also the co-author of New York Times Best Seller Koreatown: A Cookbook. Sunday Bird which is a hidden fried chicken pop up behind a Boba Guys is his first venture in SF.

ABOUT B-SIDE:Introduced in April 2017, B-Side is a lounge space within SFJAZZ in Hayes Valley that offers delicious food for patrons going to a show at SFJAZZ as well as those that just want to enjoy a drink or meal. B-Side is brought to you by Salt Partners Group, a food and beverage focused hospitality group based here in San Francisco that brought you Atelier Crenn and Petit Crenn with Dominique Crenn, Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream, Horsefeather, LocoL, Bacon Bacon, Halcyon, and Stella Public House.
FAQs:Why is this a ticketed event and not a regular reservation?Due to the nature of a pop-up, this event is a one-night-only chance to experience SF-based Chef Deuki Hong's talent in the kitchen.
What is included in the ticket price? Your ticket is a pre-payment of your food bill (prix-fixe menu). Tickets exclude any beverages, CA state tax and gratuity. Our restaurant staff works hard to serve you. Since your food is pre-paid, we ask that you add gratuity at the end of the night based on the full value of your meal including both food and beverage charges. Thank you in advance.
Can I request a menu substitution?Our menu is a set prix-fixe menu. However, in the case of allergies, please alert us at least 72 hours in advance ([email protected]) and we are happy to accommodate.
Do you take walk-ins?Our prix-fixe menu will be served in our dining room and bar seating and is by reservation only. However, our lounge seating is available for walk-ins on a first come, first served basis. Note, lounge seating has smaller cocktail tables and a limited 'small bites' menu. Serving our prix-fixe menu in our lounge seating area is at the discretion of our staff.
Can I change the time of my reservation?We are offering 3 timed seatings at 5:30pm, 7:30pm and 9:30pm. Should you need to make a change to your reservation, please contact us up to 72 hours in advance ONLY (email: [email protected]). Seating is subject to availability.
What's the cancelation/refund policy?Due to the one-time-only nature of this event, we regretfully cannot accept cancelations or refunds.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?We suggest that you bring your printed tickets to verify your purchase. Otherwise, please bring the credit card you used to purchase the tickets when you check in to show to our staff. Thank you.
