Opening Doors PTA invites you to the 2020 Autism Symposium on February 1st, 2020 at the Marriott Courtyard in Redwood City, CA. The symposium will provide a forum for parents and professionals to exchange experiences, best practices, and ideas related to supporting children on the autism spectrum.

Plans for the agenda include:

-8:30am-9:30am: Continental Breakfast.
-9:30am-11am: Attention Deficit Disorder in Children with Autism- Sarah Cheyette, M.D.
-11:10am- 12:40pm: Pivotal Response Training- Grace Gengoux, PhD, BCBA-D

Registration fee is $10 for Opening Doors PTA members and $20 for nonmembers, including breakfast and meeting materials. Free Parking available onsite.

*Please be aware that childcare is not provided and children are not allowed in the workshop. Please make arrangements accordingly.

Dr Sarah Cheyette is a pediatric neurologist at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation. She treats kids and young adults with autism and ADHD, not just with medication but also with non-medication strategies. She brings a powerful professional perspective on the benefits and limitations of medication, and the many behavioral adaptations young people with autism must embrace to thrive with their condition.She is the co-author of ADHD & The Focused Mind: A Guide to Giving Your ADHD Child Focus, Discipline & Self-Confidence, and Winning with ADHD.

Dr Grace Gengoux is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine and a board-certified behavior analyst . She is a licensed clinical psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D) with expertise in the clinical evaluation and behavioral treatment of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Over the past year, Dr. Gengoux's research has continued to focus on the design and evaluation of effective naturalistic behavioral treatment programs for young children with autism. She oversees the supervision of a team of therapists providing parent training and in-home treatment in Pivotal Response Training (PRT).
