Come to Mechanics’ Institute, 57 Post Street, SF for a provocative conversation with acclaimed Oakland author and activist Lauren Markham (The Far Away Brothers: Two Young Immigrants and the Making of an American Life) which won awards from both the California Book Award and the Northern California Book Awards; and LA author/journalist and Dreamer Eileen Truax (We Build the Wall: How the US Keeps out Asylum Seekers from Mexico, Central America and Beyond). They will discuss issues of immigration, the US border, and the real life stories of refugees here in the Bay Area.
