JOIN THE AUTHORS of the hot new SF Guide, Walking San Francisco's 49 Mile Scenic Drive, for a 3.8-mile loop hike along one section of the 49 Mile Scenic Drive: Walk #14, The Mission.
BEGIN: We’ll begin with a long hike up-and-down-and-up-and down stately Dolores Street to Cesar Chavez. Then we'll make a big u-turn to return via Mission and Valencia Streets. The Mission is the City's oldest neighborhood. As we walk by it all—from Mission Dolores to Good Vibrations to Hipster eateries—we’ll share a few tidbits of the most-likely-true history and fun factoids we discovered while researching the guidebook.
END: We end where we begin (14th St at Market St), though once we hit Mission St you are free to take off on your own if you want to meander more.
Difficulty: Dolores St is hilly! Mission St is mostly flat terrain.
Well-behaved children and dogs welcome
