Get a start on your New Year's Resolutions with an invigorating walk. Whether or not you are taking the challenge to WALK the ENTIRE 49 Mile Scenic Drive in 2018—you are welcome to get a taste of this new SF Walking Adventure. For 80 years SF's 49 Mile Scenic Drive has directed tourists and locals alike around the Best of SF.
Walk 1 begins with a lap around the Civic Center's grand buildings, skirts the edge of the Tenderloin and Little Saigon, then heads uphill on Geary over Cathedral Hill to Japantown, and flips back down Post Street pased Union Square ending at Chinatown Gate.
As we walk by it all, the authors will share a few tidbits of the most-likely-true history and fun factoids we discovered while researching the guidebook.
BEGIN: We meet in Front of SF City Hall (Polk Street / Dr Goodlett Place)
END: We end at the Chinatown Gate: Grant & Bush Sts. You can hop on Muni back to the beginning (or walk back up Market Street with us). Or take off for your own adventure.
Difficulty: a little hilly, busy downtown streets
Well-behaved childrenand dogs welcomed (dogs need to be used to busy city streets)
