WALK #2 (of 17 Walks) - for 2018 80th Anniversary Challenge
JOIN THE AUTHORS of the SF Guide, Walking San Francisco's 49 Mile Scenic Drive, for a 3-mile hike along the MOST ICONIC section of the 49 Mile Scenic Drive: Walk #2, Chinatown Gate to Fisherman's Wharf
For 80 years SF's 49 Mile Scenic Drive has directed tourists and locals alike around the Best of SF. Whether or not you are taking the challenge to WALK the ENTIRE 49 Mile Scenic Drive in 2018—you are welcome to get a taste of this new SF Walking Adventure.
Walk 2 is a "MUST SEE" visitor walk—jam-packed with the top City sites: Chinatown, Nob Hill, Cable Cars, North Beach, Coit Tower—up and down STEEP HILLS.
As we walk by it all, the authors will share a few tidbits of the most-likely-true history and fun factoids we discovered while researching the guidebook.
BEGIN: We meet in Front of SF City Hall (Polk Street / Dr Goodlett Place)
END: We end at the Chinatown Gate: Grant & Bush Sts. You can hop on Muni back to the beginning (or walk back up Market Street with us). Or take off for your own adventure.
Difficulty: many steep hills, busy downtown streets
Well-behaved children welcomed (not a good wlak for dogs)
Books available for purchase and autographing at event or walksf49.com
(If RAIN, or some act of God, cancels the walk, we'll inform attendees via email.)
