Like Apollo en route to the moon, Astronomy on Tap: Bay Area is in a transfer orbit! For those who don't know, Astronomy on tap is an event where students and scientists take over a local bar to drink beers, talk about space, and have fun! We’re moving to a new location on August 22nd in San Francisco: Black Hammer Brewing! To accompany our new locale, we’ve got a great collection of new speakers and activities. We will hear from Prof. Dan Akerib about his experiment to try to detect elusive dark matter particles, and Dr. Kate Follette will show us her work in finding planets around other stars. We also have a NASA visitor; Dr. Trisha Ashley will speak about her so-called “cute” dwarf galaxies! We’ll also have some fun interactive trivia sessions, with sweet prizes! For updates, follow our twitter and our event on facebook!
