The Tech Challenge is open to students from 5th-12th grade and registration is open now and is $50 for the entire team.
Teams will check in, present their project to two or more judges, demonstrate how the device works, have an interview with the judges, take a souvenir photo with your team and then the awards ceremony will take place.
The team members will design a device to help scientists study neighboring asteroids. The "device will provide an innovative launching solution to safely land sensitive research equipment at different locations on the asteroid with various terrains - from soft soil to jagged rock."
