Arts for Social Justice: Lucky Girl

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Mayer Theatre (see times)
About Lucky Girl:

Lucky Girl is a solo show, adapted from the award-winning poetry of Frances Driscoll. It is a courageous, unblinking self-portrait of a struggle with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder after being raped. The story is told through interactions with a therapist, family and friends, ranging from suicidal moments of bleak isolation to wry observations leavened with humor. Lucky Girl is a survivor’s tale and in that sense it’s a story of triumph. This new adaptation is inspired by the phrase, "you are so lucky", one of the first things everyone says to rape survivors.

Often painful, Lucky Girl, is also beautiful, heartbreaking, quirky and funny.

Post play discussion will follow the performance.
