Andy's Celebration of Life

3/29/1955-11/23/2016:
 
Andrew Brian Field “Andy” was an ironman, bay swimmer, sailor, health professional, husband of 34 years, and father. He was an avid reader and writer who surrounded himself with interesting people who appreciated his humor, vocabulary, and easy-going, good-natured qualities. He cared deeply for life with all it entailed and had opinions about everything. For a little guy, he was stronger than the big guys and knew it. In the end, he knew his life was all it needed to be with Dylan and me and all our doggies through the years. Yet, even for someone who had it all, he continued to fight and seek peace. 
 
Andy’s two-year struggle with cancer, pain, and loss was unacceptable to him. In his life, he fought for everything that was important to him and never gave up. He died the same way.  However, this time cancer won. Cancer sucked away at his bones until he was in more pain than anyone should ever have to endure even with the outrageous amount of drugs to control the pain. 
 
I hope he is now at peace. I will love him forever. He kept Dylan and me safe and happy while loving us unconditionally every day.

Thank you to all our friends, family, and even the healthcare professionals who tried to offset his pain and angst amid this awful disease. I sincerely hope no one ever has to feel this kind of pain in his or her life.
