An Evening with Sean Penn

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Sean Penn, Academy Award-Winning Actor; Writer; Producer; Director; Author, Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff
Academy Award winner and loudmouth Sean Penn has worked as an actor, writer, producer and director on more than 100 theater and film productions, including Mystic River and Milk, and now he’s adding another role to his repertoire: first-time novelist.
One part satirical thriller and one part political commentary, Penn’s debut novel, Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff, tells the story of Bob Honey, a modern American entrepreneur and part-time assassin who spends his days selling septic tanks to Jehovah’s Witnesses and arranging pyrotechnic displays for foreign dictators. He’s also a contract killer for a clandestine program run by a branch of U.S. intelligence that targets the elderly, the infirm and other populations who drain a consumption-driven society of its resources.
When a dogged journalist starts questioning Honey, he can’t decide if it’s the beginning of a new friendship or the catalyst to his demise. Among a backdrop of treason, terrorism and American political life sinking lower every moment, Honey decides to make a change - if he doesn’t get killed by the corrupted government or the overzealous media first.
Join us for a very special, can’t-miss evening with one of America’s most acclaimed artists.
Location: Hebst Theatre, 409 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco, 94102Time: 5:30 p.m. check-in, 6:30 p.m. program All ticket sales are final and nonrefundable. This is a Good Lit event, underwritten by the Bernard Osher Foundation
