An Evening on International Business Etiquette

SEE EVENT DETAILS
An Evening on International Business Etiquette
Have you ever attended business meetings abroad, or do you anticipate doing so in the future?  Are you new to the U.S. (perhaps from France!) and assimilating to American working culture, or are you an American planning to live and work outside of your native country (perhaps in France)? Or, are you just interested in learning about how certain professional manners vary by culture?
If any of these describe you, you’ll enjoy this presentation on International Business Etiquette, which will prepare you to navigate cross-cultural differences to achieve professional success.

During this event, you will learn about the following:

The key types of differences between cultures

Key concerns to look for in planning to do business in another culture – what to consider when conducting business in different regions or with visitors from different cultures (within the U.S. or abroad)

Information on how to find out about current manners in different cultures, including the types of questions to ask and research to conduct to determine cultural norms and expectations

Specific cultural differences between doing business in the U.S. vs. France

For reference, all participants will receive a printed copy of the presentation as well as tip sheets on general business etiquette best practices.

About Nisha Trivedi

Nisha Trivedi is a business etiquette trainer certified by The Emily Post Institute.
Nisha’s observations of workplace behavior throughout her business career inspired her to become a business etiquette trainer.  She’s been fortunate to witness examples of excellent professional behaviors: positive interactions that built strong client relationships, meetings that maximized productivity and boosted confidence, and empathetic gestures by individuals that helped colleagues facing challenges.  However, in other cases, she’s also observed examples of less desirable behaviors at work that adversely affected office culture and productivity, such as words or actions that (often inadvertently) made others uncomfortable.
?Upon reflecting on her stories as well as the experiences of the professionals in her network, Nisha decided to make it her mission to train companies on sound business etiquette practices to help individuals and companies maximize their success and to make organizations more enjoyable places to work.  Because ultimately, that is what everyone deserves.
Nisha has worked in a variety of organizations across industries, including consumer products and professional services.  She earned an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Pennsylvania.
