Jeepney Projects presents an evening with Ana Valerie Mandri Rohen, Director of the remote El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, a cloud forest located in Mexico's Chiapas region.
This event will introduce the unique reserve, wildlife and people who share the land, and the challenges they face. Rohen will describe how local, indigenous communities are working with the reserve on projects such as coffee farms, to secure a sustainable future and conserve the forest.
Huge, ghost-like morpho butterflies float through massive tree ferns at El Triunfo. Home to quetzals, jaguars, spider monkeys and other amazing creatures, it is a magical place, shrouded in fog. http://fondoeltriunfo.org/english.
