Join the National Cemetery Administration (NCA) and San Francisco State University's Veteran Documentary Corps in showcasing the untold stories of Veterans buried in California's Golden Gate and San Francisco National Cemeteries. These short-form films depict the diversity of the Veteran experience and shared American legacy.
Eight of the 12 short-form documentaries will be shown, followed by a discussion with the student filmmakers.
The univeristy received a contract to provide a framework of digital and non-digital outreach based on student research focused on Veterans interred at San Francisco and Golden Gate national cemeteries. The project, led by Dr. Daniel Bernardi, professor of cinema, joined by colleagues: Dr. Trevor Getz, professor of history and department chair; Dr. Judith Munter, dean of the Graduate College of Education; Dr. Christina Sabee, professor of communications studies and department chair; and Ms. Carolina Gratianne, instructor, school of cinema and production coordinator.
NCA awarded three separate contracts to San Francisco State University, Black Hills State University and University of Central Florida as the first of many planned initiatives to engage educators, students and researchers and the general public through NCA’s Veterans Legacy Program.
