Although it calls itself a cafe, Al's is really a diner. Classic movie posters, multiple Minnie Mouses, and mechanical seasonal displays adorn all the wall space. There are omelettes, pastrami sandwiches, chili dogs, and other oversized plates of short-order food, all served with truly excellent homefries. Ask for the homemade salsa to put on your homefries and don't be scared off by the salsa's brownness. There aren't any fancy latte-type offerings here, but there's basic coffee with endless refills.
