Alameda History Day

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Edna Brewer Middle School (see times)
Impact the lives of young people by volunteering to be a judge at County History Day on March 17, 2018. We will train and guide you in how to be a judge. Your desire and time is all that is required for adults who are interested.

Judges for each category observe or watch student projects and then ask each individual or groups of students’ questions about their project. Based on the topic, resources and the answers to the questions, judges decide on the top projects.

Being a judge provides you the opportunity of providing feedback to students regarding their various research projects and provides you the opportunity to view the amazing work of history day students in Alameda County. It also provides students the opportunity to interact with adults who are also interested in history. We will need a group of about 12 to do judging ahead of time from their homes, between March 1 and March 17 for the research papers and website categories. Ideally we need judges from roughly 10:00 – 3:00 on March 17, but could also use judges for part of the day – either 10:00-12:00 or 12:00 – 3:00.

In return for your time and effort, we offer free parking and lunch, endless gratitude, and a positive perspective on our nation’s youth.
