In September of 2006, Joanne Weir fell madly and hopelessly in love with tequila. Fueled by this realization, she created Agave Girls, a group for women who appreciate tequila. Not stopping there, she went on to write a book about tequila and later opened Copita, a tequileria in Sausalito!
On September 29th, Joanne invites you and your girlfriends to an incredibly special dinner party celebrating the release of her newest cookbook, a food memoir, called Kitchen Gypsy: Recipes and Stories from a Lifelong Romance with Food.
Page by page, Weir reveals the twists of fate, the ups and downs. Sometimes laughing, sometimes crying - you’ll enjoy every minute of the ride. From a fly in a bottle of wine that sends her to France, to her screams of delight at being hired to cook at Chez Panisse, to her cooking classes in Australia, Morocco, Spain, Italy, Mexico and beyond that make her the gypsy she is and how she gets mixed into the center of a torrid Tuscan love affair. But the chapter you’ll love most is the final chapter when she opens her first restaurant and finds that it’s not as glamorous as she thought.
