The California Fungal Diversity Survey is a community science effort to collect photos, anecdotes, and discoveries of all the mushrooms that fruit in our state's landscapes. Learn about the incredible variety of fungi and how you can get involved.

Harte Singer is the Sequencing Program Director for FUNDIS and a graduate student in the Perry Lab at CSU East Bay studying fungal endophytes. His mycology journey began at the legendary community space, Counter Culture Labs. He runs a genomics lab in his garage where he does artisanal sequencing for select clients.

Cook with confidence! Edible mushrooms come in many more colors and shapes than brown buttons. Expand your palate and food production in this talk covering the basics of mushroom cultivation and the different classifications of edible mushrooms.

Amanda Janney owns KM Mushrooms, a gourmet mushroom farm in Santa Rosa, California. She cultivates a unique variety of mushrooms, believing there's a mushroom for everyone to enjoy. A longtime cultivator, she's passionate about teaching others to grow mushrooms and helping them confidently incorporate these superfoods into daily meals.

With BAAM

Damp coastal climates produce an astounding quantity and variety of mushrooms. Come see a bounty on display from recent fungal forays and talk to experts about the best field practices, what mushrooms you can find where, and learn about taxonomy. Samples and volunteers provided by Bay Area Applied Mycology, the Mycology Society of San Francisco, and the UC Berkeley Mycology Club.

BAAM is a nonprofit organization using scientific research and fungi to solve environmental problems, build community, and support sustainability across many different fields.

Get a close look at the beautiful patterns hidden inside mushroom samples! Guided by volunteers from the SF Microscopical Society, you can observe the inner beauty of mushrooms and their spores at a microscope station.

Founded in 1870, the SF Microscopical Society is a community of aspirational, amateur, and professional microscopists in the Bay Area.
