With Chung Ngai Dance Troupe
The lion dance is a traditional floor routine that rings in the new year with cheer and luck. Featuring two lion heads, a percussion ensemble, and symbolic offerings, this dance intends to wish everyone good fortune and prosperity in all that they do.
Following the dance, meet the performers from Chung Ngai Dance Troupe and learn more about their half-century of history in San Francisco and other Lunar New Year traditions.
Chung Ngai Dance Troupe was founded in San Francisco's Chinatown in 1966. Their main goal was and still is to preserve Chinese culture through the performing arts.

* Wishing Tree: Wishing trees are regarded as having a spiritual power that can offer what people wish, such as health, peace, and love. Grab a strip of paper, write down your new year wish, and attach it to our "Wishing Tree."
