African Diaspora’s free Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service

Admission is free all day 11-5 and special activities are being planned for all ages -- Prescott Circus performers, chalk art, and other art activities for children and their families. Also a performance by Dimensions Dance Company, a screening of a documentary on the creation of a memorial to Black Panther Huey Newton with Director A.K. Sandhu, and a special docent program on civil rights through art and music for all audiences.

Dimensions Dance Company will present a youth dance performance "The History of Dance From Africa to America," tracing the evolution of African dance from its traditional roots to its contemporary expressions in the United States.

Art As We See It | Civil Rights Through Art and Music. MoAD docents present pairings of visual art and music of the American civil rights era with a special focus on the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This virtual program will be streaming in-person in the Salon.

For Love and Legacy screening and discussion of this short documentary on the creation of a memorial to Black Panther Huey Newton with Director A.K. Sandhu
