Overview

Have you ever been in an engineering team meeting and questioned your competence level?
Have you ever felt like you do not deserve a seat at the table? This career development workshop will explore impostor syndrome and how to overcome these symptoms to succeed in professional tech circles.
Participants will engage in an in-depth activity that will challenge their perceptions of each other. And, then learn best practices from facilitators on how to tackle impostor syndrome through worksheet exercises.

Alexandria Butler
Alexandria Noel Butler, affectionately known as Lexi B, has a comprehensive career in the tech industry as a program manager and has led multiple cross-functional projects in engineering, legal, marketing and compliance at various organizations. In February 2018, Lexi B launched her most recent venture, Unfiltered, a weekly video series that discuss the candid tips and tricks on how to succeed as a young professional and successfully build your career in the early stages.
Carita Marrow
Carita Marrow is a change agent serving as Adobe, Diversity & Inclusion Talent Program Manager. She drives strategy attracting and recruiting diverse talent into Adobe in tight partnership with the talent acquisition and talent branding teams as well as the employee networks.
Before joining Adobe, Carita was Senior Manager, Science Education,  UNCF, the nation’s largest scholarship provider where she managed UNCF’s 48 million dollar initiative, Fund II Foundation STEM Scholars Program, UNCF Merck Science Initiative and HBCU Innovation Summit focused. At UNCF, Carita quickly understood the ramifications of technology changing landscapes in every aspect of life. She had the foresight to understand the critical gaps of African American (AA) representation within the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)  industries and low African American representation within these rapidly evolving fields. At UNCF, she Carita has administered over 11 million dollars in scholarship & leaderships grants to over 700 historically underrepresented students of color. Beyond her current Adobe day job, Carita loves to paint + draw.
