We did this last year, and it was a lot of fun-
Niles Canyon Railway in Sunol offers scenic hour-long train trips through Niles Canyon. Niles Canyon Railway is operated as a living historical museum by using historical equipment and standard railroad practices. It's like traveling back to the time when trains were the main form of transportation.
During the Spring the route the train takes passes fields of wildflowers- mustard flowers, Lupin, California Poppies, Rosemary, and wild Almond. In their annual "Toast to Spring" Sunol area vintners offer free samples of their wines on-board these wildflower trains.
The train leaves at 12:00, so be sure you're there on time. After the trip, we can head over Bosco's Bones and Brew for a late lunch.
Join me for wildflowers and wine while riding the rails...
