Through Access Silicon Valley, SJSV Chamber members have the opportunity to meet elected officials and local decision-makers while voicing concerns about issues affecting our business community. Leading up the San Jose elections next year, the SJSV Chamber is pleased to present a series of Access Silicon Valley events focused on the potential candidates for Mayor of San Jose in 2014.
Our March 13 speaker in this series will be Councilmember Pierluigi Oliverio (District 6). Councilmember Oliverio is the son of immigrant parents, Italo and Matilde, who are both retired teachers. Pierluigi attended Booksin Elementary, Hoover Middle School, and Willow Glen High in the San Jose Unified School District. He then went on to obtain his BA and Teaching Credential from San Jose State University. Raised on Willow Street, he is a homeowner on Cherry Avenue where he is a parishioner of St. Christopher’s church. In addition, Pierluigi has over 17 years of high tech work experience in the semiconductor and software industries. Prior to being elected to the San Jose City Council, he traveled to 45 countries.
Pierluigi was elected to the San Jose City Council in 2007, in 2008 and for a third time in 2012.
