Join us for Academy Homeroom: Gays & God with instructor Ish Ruiz, where we will explore the eastern and western religious response to the topic of homosexuality.
Beginning with a brief overview of eastern and western cosmology and how that worldview applies to the topic of homosexuality, we will then explore two traditions in detail: Hinduism and Catholicism. Attendees will learn specific doctrines pertaining to homosexuality and analyze how the different eastern and western worldview yielded these teachings. Furthermore, we will explore the impact these religious teachings have had on the cultural and political climate of today.
? While Academy events are offered for our Members, we do offer courses to the public on a wide array of topics. A catalog of upcoming Academy Homeroom courses can be found at academy-sf.com/homeroom
