October 19 - 21: Fri and Sat at 8pm, Sun at 2pm
In A Recomposition, Liss Fain takes the elements of I Don't Know and Never Will, a piece inspired by her personal letters from decades ago, and fearlessly reimagines them to examine how our connections with both people and memories give shape to our lives.
In returning to this intimate material with the desire to unearth a drastically different piece, A Recomposition is an act of radical vulnerability and honesty, an acknowledgement that our lives and selves are never settled, but are always changing. It invites the audience to write notes to someone whom they would like to reconnect with, to ask questions and to find their own answers. A Recomposition combines elements of theater, contemporary dance, live music, and Liss Fain's own presence as a performer to create a dynamic and intensely personal installation experience.
With choreography by Liss Fain, live music by Jordan Glenn, installation design by Matthew Antaky, costumes by Mary Domensico, and featuring actor Jonathan Siegel together with Fain and a quartet of dancers.
