US premiere of L’Orphelin 2.0
at the San Francisco International Arts Festival on May 24 & 26.
"You will be amazed by how a familiar plot can be played out inventively”
“Difficult to find words to express the quality of the show, the physicality, the storytelling (despite not understanding Chinese)”
L’Orphelin 2.0 is a physical interpretation of the famous legend of The Orphan of Zhao, which is often known as the Chinese version of Hamlet. We truly believe that L’Orphelin 2.0 serves as a great message in this era of time, as it is a dialogue on truth and freedom, on the relevance of history in the present time, or even about Hong Kong. But most importantly, we believe that L’Orphelin 2.0 is a story that you can relate to as well.
Théâtre de la Feuille is based on the physical training of Jean Lecoq that is intermingled with the aesthetics of the East as a foundation. While the theatre is now based in Hong Kong, it has presented on different global stages upon tours and invitations, including France, Italy, Croatia, Taiwan and China. The theatre is now a strong and unique ensemble in Hong Kong and Asia.
