A Mediterranean Feast Cooking Class with Parties That Cook - January 23, 2016

How many times have you read about the benefits of eating a Mediterranean diet? Well dieting is no fun but cooking delicious food is! Join Parties That Cook in our North Beach kitchen where you will learn to prepare highly flavorful foods that are also great for you! What better way to kick off the New Year with a new repertoire of recipes that will keep you satisfied without even realizing they’re “healthy” or “gluten-free” or “low-calorie”! You’ll roast Cauliflower Florets which become perfect dippers for a Cumin Curried Hummus, roll Lamb and Beef Kofta balls stuffed with feta cheese. You’ll prepare Lentils with Tomatoes, Spices and Preserved Lemons, and finish the meal with Goat Cheese Amaretti Cake with Pomegranate Molasses-Glazed Raspberries. There are more great recipes that are good for you in this hands-on class.

What's on the Menu
• Sparkling Wine Aperitif
• Cumin Curried Hummus with Roasted Cauliflower Florets
• Lamb and Beef Kofta with Soft Centers and Garlicky Tahini
• Grilled Salmon Charmoula with Herb Salad
• Lentils Flavored with Tomatoes, Spices and Preserved Lemons
• Spice-Infused Steamed Carrots with Pomegranate Molasses
• Goat Cheese Amaretti Cake with Pomegranate Molasses Glazed Raspberries

FAQ’S and Chef’s Notes:
• Students will receive electronic copies of all recipes.
• This is an active, hands-on class so we suggest long pants and comfortable, closed-toed/rubber soled shoes.
• Knives and utensils provided for in-class use.
• Parking is limited in the North Beach area. Please provide for extra time to find a space. If space is limited, we recommend the parking lot at Northpoint Centre Shopping Center, at 350 Bay St, San Francisco, CA 94133.
• No one under 21 years old will be admitted.
• Appetizer-sized portions of all menu items are served.
• Due to time constraints, not all participants will make all menu items and recipes.
• We cook with the best seasonal ingredients. Farmers are at the hands of Mother Nature and so are we. Therefore, menu ingredients are subject to change should the need arise.
